How we start

You don’t need a solar panel.
You need one switch, today.

Nobody saves a hundred units in an afternoon. What actually works is embarrassingly small and slightly boring — and it adds up faster than anyone expects.

Your first day

  1. Pick one thing. Just one.

The fan instead of the AC for an hour. The tap off while you brush. A light in an empty room. It genuinely does not matter which — it matters that it is real and that it is today.

  2. Tap it in the app.

Ten seconds. You will see the kWh, the CO₂ and the rupees straight away, because seeing it is the whole point — saved energy is invisible until somebody counts it.

  3. Come back tomorrow.

That is it. That is the entire method. Two days is a streak, three is a badge, and a fortnight in you will be doing it without opening the app first.

The only maths that matters

Every unit of electricity you don’t use keeps 0.71 kg of CO₂ out of the air, because that is what India’s grid emits to make one. Switch a fan for an AC for two hours and you have saved about 2.8 units. Do that twice a week for a term and it is roughly what a tree absorbs in a year.

You are not going to fix the climate from your bedroom. You are going to make a real, countable dent — and then thirty of you will do it at once.

What the first month looks like

Week one

You find your easy wins

Everyone has two or three things they can do without thinking about them. Air-drying instead of the dryer. One degree warmer on the AC. You will spot yours in the first few days, and after that they cost you nothing at all.

Week two

The numbers start to mean something

A single action looks like a rounding error. Fourteen of them do not. This is usually the week people go and look at an actual electricity bill for the first time in their life — and the app will show you exactly how it was worked out.

Week four

Your class is in it with you

One person saving is a nice habit. Thirty people saving is a measurable amount of electricity that a school genuinely did not use. The leaderboard is only there to make that visible.

Two things worth knowing

Missing a day is fine. A streak resetting is not a failure, it is a Tuesday. The lifetime totals never reset, so nothing you have already saved can be taken away from you.

Only log what you actually did. Every point is calculated by the server, so the numbers can’t be faked — but nothing can check whether you really turned the fan off. That part is yours, and a made-up score saves nobody any electricity.

The best day to start was yesterday. Today is fine too.
